Creating a safe, respectful, and meaningful space for remembrance

iLive is a sacred space where families and friends come together to honor, remember, and celebrate the lives of loved ones. Our community guidelines ensure that every memorial remains a place of respect, dignity, and comfort for all who visit.

By using iLive, you agree to uphold these guidelines and help us maintain a supportive environment for everyone.

Our Core Principles

Safety & Security

We prioritize the safety of our community members. Harassment, bullying, or harmful behavior will not be tolerated.

Privacy & Control

You control who sees and contributes to your loved one's memorial. Respect others' privacy choices.

Inclusivity

We welcome all cultures, traditions, and beliefs. Celebrate diversity and honor each unique life story.

Community Guidelines

01

Be Respectful and Kind

iLive is a place of remembrance and healing. All contributions should be thoughtful, kind, and respectful:

  • Share positive memories and celebrate the life lived
  • Use appropriate language and avoid profanity
  • Be mindful of cultural and religious sensitivities
  • Offer condolences with sincerity and compassion
  • Never post harmful, hateful, or offensive content
Good: "Grandma was the kindest person I've ever known. Her smile lit up every room she entered. I'll miss her dearly."
Bad: Negative comments, criticism of the deceased or family, inappropriate humor
02

Protect Privacy and Consent

Respecting privacy is fundamental to our community. Always ensure you have proper consent:

  • Only share content that you have permission to share
  • Respect memorial privacy settings (Public, Link-only, Invite-only, Family-only)
  • Do not share personal information about others without consent
  • Report any privacy concerns to our support team
  • Remember that memorials are created by families for remembrance

Memorial owners can remove any content they feel violates their privacy or wishes.

03

No Harassment or Bullying

iLive is a safe space for grieving and remembrance. Harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited:

  • Do not target, harass, or bully other community members
  • No personal attacks, threats, or intimidation
  • Respect differing opinions and grieving styles
  • Report any harassment immediately to our moderation team
  • Violations may result in account suspension or permanent ban

We take harassment seriously. Accounts engaging in bullying will be permanently removed.

04

Authentic Content Only

All content on iLive should be genuine and authentic:

  • Create memorials only for real individuals (no fictional characters or pets)
  • Post only photos and media that belong to you or you have permission to share
  • Do not impersonate others or create fake accounts
  • Tributes should reflect genuine memories and sentiments
  • No spam, promotional content, or commercial solicitation

We verify memorials to ensure authenticity. False memorials will be removed immediately.

05

Appropriate Content

All content must be appropriate for a memorial platform:

  • No explicit, violent, or graphic content
  • No hate speech, discrimination, or prejudice
  • No political campaigning or religious proselytizing
  • No adult content or nudity
  • No copyrighted material without permission
Allowed: Photos of the deceased, family gatherings, meaningful moments
Not Allowed: Explicit content, graphic accident photos, offensive imagery
06

Honest Tributes

Tributes should reflect genuine memories and feelings:

  • Write tributes that honor the deceased's memory
  • Share personal stories and cherished moments
  • Be truthful and authentic in your expressions
  • Avoid speculation or rumors about the deceased or family
  • Focus on celebrating life rather than dwelling on negative aspects

Tip: If you don't know what to write, a simple "Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time" is always appropriate.

07

Support and Empathy

iLive is a community of support. Show empathy to those who are grieving:

  • Offer condolences with kindness and sincerity
  • Respect that everyone grieves differently
  • Don't minimize or dismiss others' feelings
  • Offer practical support if appropriate
  • Share resources if you have helpful information
Good: "I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mother was such a beautiful soul. Let me know if you need anything."
08
